LATE ARRIVAL POLICY:

  • Students must arrive to class on time. We recommend that students arrive to class 15 minutes prior to the start time. No late arrivals will be accepted for skills sessions. If a student is more than 15 minutes late to a full in-person class, the student must reschedule. Please see the above rescheduling policy for more details. If a student is late to a rescheduled class, the student will be considered a NO SHOW (please see below for the NO SHOW policy).

NO SHOW POLICY:

A student who does not show up to class and did not notify us before the start of the class is considered a NO SHOW. We do not refund or honor credit for NO SHOW students.

FAQ’S

Which CPR Class should I take?

If you are a licensed healthcare provider or a student in a medically related course, you would complete the BLS for Healthcare Provider course. All non-healthcare individuals should register for the HeartSaver CPR & AED course.

Do I need a book for class?

Yes. American Heart Association policy requires that each student have the required textbook during the course. You are required to follow along in the book with each lesson. The exit exam for each course is open resource. See course descriptions for information on the current, required textbook.

Please note that if you are completing an online course and attending a skills testing session a book is not required; an electronic version is included in your online course.

Can I pickup my book before my class?

When selecting the pickup option during online registration, you are opting to pickup your book on the day of your course. In-person pickup prior to your course date is not available. If you wish to receive your book before your course you may select the shipping option.

Please note that we do not ship materials less than 7 days before a course date.

Is there parking available at your location?

Is there parking available at your location? Free parking is available in our plaza lot onsite as well as 1-hour street parking. Individuals who are completing an in-person course are recommended to park in the plaza lot at the corner; those completing skills testing may park on the main avenue as you will not exceed the 1-hour time limit.

Can I bring food to class?

Yes. We provide coffee and water, but you are free to bring whatever you'd like. We have a microwave and small refrigerator on site for public use.

Are you American Heart Association certified?

Yes, we are an authorized American Heart Association Training Site. All courses completed at Chicago Metro CPR will result in a 2-year certification issued by the American Heart Association.

If I already bought my online course from AHA can I just purchase the skills session from you?

Absolutely! If you have already purchased your online course elsewhere you will need to contact us via phone or email for the skills session only registration. All purchase options listed on our website include the cost of a new online course as well.

Do you offer private classes?
